NaNo Continues
Nov. 24th, 2009 11:40 pmJust about there, which is unexpected, for me. I honestly wasn't sure I'd finish, since I've been trying to write fanfic for months and kept getting stonewalled by lack of time and writer's block. The big question now is if I can actually finish the bloody story, since it's definitely not going to be done at 50k (I'm not even halfway through, for heaven's sake). I'm really nervous about this story as a whole because I didn't really outline or anything and I'm basically making it up as it moves me. The chapter titles are random stuff I'm listening to and I haven't edited beyond fixing spelling mistakes. That said, I actually unlocked a few chapters to start.
Prologue: you made a deal
1.I know what I've seen
2.let that be a lesson to me
3.empty as an emperor
4.one night I followed some holy men
5.trouble is a friend
In other news, I've been listening to Christmas music lately and I'm Jewish, so sue me.
Tori Amos - Holly, Ivy and Rose
Tori Amos - Jeanette, Isabella
Sting - Soul Cake
NaNoWriMo '09: Revenge of the NaNo
Nov. 11th, 2009 05:35 pmPassed 20k, yay! *fanfare* Doing better than I thought. Music helps a lot. I'm a little worried the story itself is going too slow, since I'm this far and I still haven't actually gotten to the important 'plot' part of the plot (set-up powers, activate!) and still haven't even introduced a couple characters. On the other hand, I have more ideas for the beginning and end of this thing than the middle, so maybe this'll help me think of new stuff while wasting pages at the same time. It's a win-win! I guess.
I'll probably post it at my Dreamwidth here at some point, since I'm writing half of it there (cheers for a slow workplace), but I need to fix typos and stuff first. On the bright side, I finally have a title and it only took me a week and a half.
All Hallow's Eve, or Close Enough
Oct. 30th, 2009 10:34 pmHalloween, Halloween. Time of free candy. And also lots of fun creepy music to share. Some of my favorites after the cut :P
( I can see the lights in the distance )
In completely separate news, I'm trying my very first NaNoWriMo (I'm Klitch on their website). I'm going to try a fantasy novel idea that's been kicking around my head for a while. It's not the most original thing ever and I'm nervous about writing my own characters, but I'm trying to approach this as good fun to help me get over my writer's block that's been crushing me for months, and we'll see what comes of it. ::busy, busy::
